This coming Tuesday, Rockstar Games will launch the multiplayer mode for Grand Theft Auto V. This will allow fans to access GTA Online, where they will be able to experience the kind of gameplay that was first introduced within the single player campaign of GTA 5 along with several of their friends in the game’s upcoming online multiplayer setting. However, as the developer revealed on Sept 25, heist missions won’t be available inside GTA Online at launch.
The story of Grand Theft Auto V’s single player story revolves around the planning and execution of numerous big payoff heist missions. While fans will be able experience similar heist missions online, they won’t be doing it when GTA Online launches on Oct 1. Rockstar Games confirmed that multiplayer heists won’t be ready this Tuesday, but they will be added into the game within the next few weeks. Players will be able to plan co-op heists by using a planning board located inside their in-game apartment, just like the ones seen in the game’s story campaign.
Grand Theft Auto V is out now on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The game’s ambitions multiplayer mode, titled GTA Online, launches on Oct 1. Players will receive the online update for free which will allow them to use the title’s existing character select wheel to switch to their online character.
