With “GTA 5” now set for a release in September of this year,this title is expected to be among the top video game releases of this year. In reference to the amount of copies that this title is expected to move in the first six months at retail, Sterne Agee video game analyst Arvind Bhatia has estimated that “GTA 5” will sell a total of 18 million copies during this time.
As released through an article by GamesIndustry yesterday, Bhatia expects that “GTA 5” will outsell the next installation to the “Call of Duty” franchise that will be released in 2013. In addition to this information, it has also been estimated that the development team behind this title, Rockstar Games, has spent around a total of $137.5 million in the development of “GTA 5.”
Speaking of overall sales expectations for “GTA 5,” Bhatia states that the game should surpass original expectations with a total of 25 million copies sold. In response to this, Take-Two would be receiving a profit of $390.8 million in total profit from this title.
