Rockstar Games have issued a response in regards to several conspiracy theories that some fans believed that might have been the causes for the delay of the upcoming multiplatform title, “GTA 5.” According to a report by Gameranx on Feb. 2, the publisher quickly shot down all the speculations by saying that the extra development time is the result of trying to make the latest video game in the “Grand Theft Auto” series “as good as it needs to be.” You can check out some screens from the open-world action-adventure game in the slideshow at the top of this article and the comments from Rockstar Games below (courtesy of Gameranx):
To those of you saying or seeing various conspiracy theories about there being some other ulterior motive for this delay, rest assured that they’re all nonsense – literally the only reason we’ve delayed the release is because we want the game to be as good as it needs to be.
Rockstar Games previously announced that “GTA 5” would be released during the spring for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. The sequel, which is currently in production at the Rockstar North studio, now has an official release date of Sept. 17 in North America.
