UPDATE: It is now apparent that the man knew his attacker, Jeromen Isaac turned himself into police reeking of gasoline. Isaac worked for Gilespie but was fired after being caught stealing from her, which added to her sense of paranoia "He was doing more stealing then cleaning," Causey (Gillespie's nephew) told the post. Jerome Isaac claimed Gillespie owed him $2,000 dollars.
Police is searching for a man who set a woman on fire in Prospect Heights, identified as Delores Gillespie believed to be in her 60's who's lived on the fifth floor at 203 Underhill Ave for 30 years. A single mother coming home from shopping only to be doused with flammable liquid and set on fire.
This is the second incident that took place in an elevator, Suzanne Hart was trying to get into an elevator on the ground floor when it all of a sudden jerked upward, leaving her crushed between the elevator and the shaft.
The body of Delores Gillespie was taken away in the early morning hours, according to the post the surveillance video shows "the suspect was waiting on the fifth floor and ambushed his victim as the elevator doors opened.
Having cornered the woman in the elevator, the man struggles to light a barbecue lighter. He then ignites a Molotov cocktail — a wine or Champagne bottle filled with accelerate with a rag stuffed in its neck describing part of the grim footage.
Some told the Daily News that she "seemed to be mentally ill and was extremely paranoid... She often complained that upstairs tenants were stealing from her. In recent months, her son, who neighbors said is also mentally ill, was staying with her, five other people were slightly injured in the fire.
