Grumpy Cat, the Internet meme sensation also known as Tardar Sauce, inked a major movie deal this week with co-stars Will Ferrell and Jack Black, according to a report in Vanity Fair. The cantankerous cat's agent, Ben Lashes of West Hollywood, negotiated the movie option with Broken Road Productions ("Jack and Jill," "Zookeeper," "Mall Cop").
Grumpy Cat, who lives in Arizona with human housemate Tabatha Bundesen, is no stranger to the camera. She has appeared on "Good Morning America," Anderson Cooper's "Anderson Live," VH1's "Morning Buzz," and "The Soup." She has her own YouTube channel.
The domestic mixed breed, who "may have some Ragdoll, Snowshoe or Siamese in her line," according to her official Facebook page, also has written a book, "Grumpy Cat: A Grumpy Book: Disgruntled Tips and Activities Designed to Put a Frown on Your Face," (Chronicle Books), and had fans lined up for hours to get their picture taken with her at South by Southwest Interactive. She has been interviewed by Forbes magazine (March issue).
There hasn't been a Grumpy Cat perfume launch yet, but you can get official Grumpy Cat merchandise at Walmart, Hot Topic, Thinkgeek, and many other retail stores.
