When it comes to Halloween decorations, most people settle for a carved pumpkin in the window.
But Oklahoma resident Johnnie Mullins decided to take his seasonal decor one step further, staging an elaborate blood-covered scene on his driveway complete with several crushed corpses.
Unfortunately, his crime scene was a little too realistic and prompted horrified neighbors to call the police.
Mullins, a married father of two, told News 9 that 'Crushed Kenny,' who is placed so that it appears he has been beheaded by a garage door, and 'Dead Fred,' who is strategically positioned under the wheels of a truck in the driveway, are just a bit of Halloween fun.
"Just trying to scare people, that's what I like to do," he told the station.
Officers have informed Mullins that he is not breaking any laws, although some of his neighbors are still not very impressed with the display.
"My heart about came out of my chest," Rebecca Fuentes told News 9.
"I thought ‘Oh my God.' If I think it's real, just think of what a child would think?"
However, Mullins insists that the local children have been unfazed by his attempts to scare them and says that he plans to keep his grisly scene.
"It's Halloween. I don't think it's too far," says Mullins.
