Growing plant medicines from GM need same regulations as GM crops

Investing in corruption. Can you see the storm coming on the horizon? Scientists in Europe and the United States are assessing the risks and regulations of growing plants specifically to produce pharmaceutical drugs between the two countries made from GM seeds. The medicinal plants would have to be regulated the same way as GM seeds are. Drug companies would license farmers to grow the genetically modified medical plants.

The farmer certainly has enought people breathing down his back, a drug company in the food supply is not necessary. Make that a chemical company and a drug company. Pharmaceutical companies rise again to big money gain and control.

The real problem with this picture

Scientists say plant made medicines derived from plant proteins is a good idea and would stave off the side effects some vaccinations made from animal proteins are producing. The issue here really, isn’t which better plant or animal derived medications and vaccinations. The issue number one, vaccinations are unnecessary. Number two, if we thought vaccinations were shoved down the American public’s throat before what is going to happen when a giant chemical company gets involved in making drugs and vaccinations? The prices will indeed rise and the press will be on to enforce the American public to take them more than ever.

We need tight regulations," says Dr. Penny Sparrow John Innes Center, " and continuous oversight to protect the investment and maintaining trust.”

Does this sound familiar? Call it propaganda. This news was released the very same day, February 19, 2013 in Science Daily, that farmer Vernon Bowman Indiana was in court against Monsanto. The problem is not growing medicines in plants. Plants have been used to make medicines for decades. The real problem comes in when a Monsanto GM seed is being used to make plants. Monsanto is seeking to line their pockets heavily from this venture. The government allowed this rat in the nest and the farmers and the public are going to be the ones paying for it.

Just like GM seeds were to produce “food for the world quickly,” GM plant medicines promise to make medicines and vaccines for the world quickly and cheaply

Nothing that came from Monsanto has come without a high price. First, Agent Orange now the monopoly on seeds and medicines. The not so new process is being called “molecular farming.” What is new is using Monsanto’s GM seed. Monsanto is not named in this article but it’s not looking good, they own the patent on the GM seed. What other company is producing a GM seed? If Monsanto is suing farmers for using the seeds harvested from the previous years as is a time honored tradition, nothing but trouble is coming. The stink is just getting started. They want farmers who will walk the line and they are weeding the rest out.

Seeds could be easier to store for developing countries with storage problems

The key word here is “could.” Are armed guards for the specially selected GM medicinal seeds going to be necessary? Sparrrow cites if the seed could be transported to local production and extraction sites it could boost local economy. Is there Mission Impossible music playing in the background, do you smell espionage?

One farm of 16,000 acres of safflower they claim, could meet the worlds demand for insulin

But potential costs savings are set up under GM agriculture crops not pharmaceuticals. If it walks like a duck and looks like a duck. The average cost to set up a GM event in Europe is $10 million, and in the United States its $1-2 million. “This helps keep Europe behind in exploiting this technology,” says ScienceDaily as quoted from Sparrow. “Openness and transparency are needed to develop new regulations that work for the public and for investors,” said Sparrow. This is what the government and Monsanto want. The public doesn’t want genetically modified food, and the same goes for genetically “Roundedup” medications. Just ask.

“Regulations need to be harmonized around the world, to keep advances and competition on a level playing field.” Monsanto strangles again. If the GM seed is so great and was to quickly and cheaply deliver food to the masses then why is the food still so expensive?

Control the food supply and you control the people

Monsanto grows to own the food supply and medicines, and plant seeds. America needs to take back the food supply, and stand by its farmers. The local movement is more important than ever and needs to be united on a national level. No frankenfoods, no frankenwildlife, no frankenmedicines.

The proposed amendments to the EU directive

EU Directive 2001/18 allows pharmaceutical products to be made from GM seeds/plants to be commercialized and placed into the food chain without authorization. GMO labeling goes right out the window. To also be able to grow the seeds/ plants in clearly defined and enforced conditions. Ready-to-go-zones in the U.S; limited acreage, fallow zones and only supplying seeds to farmers licensed to grow PMP’s. The first plant-derived anti-HIV monoclonal antibody is also in the making.
