Wine lovers rejoice. A groupon for one of Connecticut's best vineyards is currently being featured for purchase on groupon.com. Haight-Brown Vineyard is one of my favorite vineyards on the Connecticut wine trail. Since 1975 they have been serving up delicious reds and whites including Chardonnay, Honey Nut Apple, Picnic Red, Morning Harvest, and Covertside White.
The groupon being sold is a 50% off wine tasting with a cellar tour, take home wine glass, and cheese. For $12 you can purchase this deal, valid for two people. It's original cost is $24 for the same package. A second offer being sold is the same package for 4 people at a cost of $23, compared to the original cost of $48. No advanced registration is required to use your groupon although it expires 90 days after purchase.
Through March 2013 Haight-Brown's winter hours of operation are Fridays and Saturdays from 12pm-6pm and Sundays from 12pm-5pm. Groupon offers can be used Fridays at 2pm and 4pm or Saturday and Sundays at 1:30pm, 3pm, or 4:30pm. The tasting is estimated to take 45 minutes. The cellar tour can be taken before or after your tasting.
Haight-Brown's cafe is now open for business selling paninis, salad, and soup to pear with your favorite wines, enjoy time by their fireplace, and wait for your tour. Tastings are held at the wine bar. Patios and two fireplaces are optional alternatives to enjoy your day at the vineyard. Haight-Brown Vineyard is located at 29 Chestnut Hill Road in Litchfield, CT.
