Group of illegal aliens to be honored at White House ceremony

This afternoon, ten illegal aliens will be honored at a White House ceremony as "Champions of Change." Those in attendance came to this country illegally from Mexico, Colombia, Morocco, India, Taiwan and the Philippines.

All of them have been shielded from deportation, under the terms of President Obama's 2012 executive order known as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival program (DACA), amnesty has since been granted to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens who were (or at least claim to have been) brought to the United States as minors.

In theory, DACA defers deportation proceedings for two years, after which the 'DREAMER' can reapply for the protected status. Of course, unless the person is convicted of a serious crime (rape, murder, etc.), it is more than unlikely that they will ever be forced to return to their home country.

A few of those being recognized today include:

-Kamal Essaheb...A Moroccan national who now works for the National Immigration Law Center "where he engages in advocacy and technical assistance related to access to legal status for immigrants." Essaheb who mainly works on passage of the DREAM Act, is fluent in Arabic.

-Dayana Elvira Torres...Lives in Virginia and recently worked for an illegal immigration advocacy group lobbying the Genral Assembly to pass in-state tuition for illegal aliens (the measure ultimately failed). She came to this country illegally from Colombia, and is "very involved in campus organizing."

-Ana Zaragoza...Brought to the U.S. illegally from Mexico, she currently attends Colorado State University (Colorado offer in-state tuition to illegal immigrants), and in Pueblo where she is currently finishing her sophomore year. Ana works for the Latino advocacy group known as Mi Familia Vota.

Last week, Obama told a small crowd at a fundraiser in Worcester, Mass., that thirty to 40 percent of the students attending Worcester Tech are "dream kids."

"Why wouldn’t we want to give them that certainty that you are part of the fabric of this nation," Obama said.

Why wouldn't we?

How about the fact that for every illegal alien attending a state school on in-state tuition, is doing so at the detriment of a citizen? The term in-state tuition basically means that the student's education costs are being subsidized by the taxpayers of that state.

Or, consider the fact that the current official unemployment rate for 16 to 19-year-olds is 19.2 percent. Of course, the actual number is much higher.

For every illegal alien attending college, there is an American student who is not...For every illegal alien with a job, there is an American without one.

Despite the aforementioned, sobering facts, the Obama administration continues to encourage foreign nationals to enter this nation by illegal means, while our southern border is being flooded with thousands of illegal aliens...all of whom Obama will force the taxpayers to support.
