Getting into shape is a personal decision. No one can do it for you. It requires individual commitment and hard work. But that doesn't mean it has to be a solitary activity. Group fitness sessions in and around Atlanta provide exercisers of all levels an opportunity to sweat and socialize.
Body Design offers Cardio Blast every Saturday at 8 a.m. in Piedmont Park. It is a free and intense 45-minute cardio workout consisting of a 5-minute warm-up, 5-minute stretch, 30-minute cardio routine, and 5-minute cool down.
"You don't have to just run; we sprint up stairs and use the practice fields for isolated work," said Amy Lowman, who enjoys the weekend workout as well as small-group training sessions during the week at Body Design. "It's nice to be able to exercise with a group of people every week," she says.
