Group Calls on Bishop and Sheriff to Resign

The Global Conservation Group of Watertown is calling on Green Bay Bishop David Ricken and Outagamie County Sheriff Bradley Gehring to resign.

On August 10, 2014, St. Patrick's Parish in Stephensville, Wisconsin hosted an event known as "pig wrestling" in which pigs were punched in the face, kicked, body-slammed, yelled at, and thrown onto a barrel. After the event, all 37 pigs were brutally slaughtered.

This illegal animal fighting event is in violation of Wisconsin Crimes Against Animals Chapter 951.08, however, church officials and local authorities refuse to take action.

It turns out animals weren't the only ones being abused and mistreated. Children were encouraged to enter into a mud pit to "tackle" and "wrestle" grown pigs, which was full of contaminated swine urine and feces.

In addition, video footage of the event recently released depicted what appears to be numerous minors consuming alcohol, while church officials and the Outagamie County Sheriff's Department did nothing but encourage such behavior.
