Groundspeak announced a new addition to its Waymarking.com website today called scavenger hunts. In order to add some excitement to waymarking, a scavenger hunt is a personal or public challenge created by one user to visit a certain number of waymarks in a particular area. The creator of a scavenger hunt selects a location, a radius, and the number of waymarks to find, and the web site automatically generates a challenge list of waymarks to locate. Groundspeak Community Relations Lackey Louie Bliss has already created a Seattle-based Scavenger Hunt called Louie Bliss's challenge to find five waymarks within five miles of Groundspeak Headquarters, and Czech-based waymarker wmh has created MH Hunt, challenging others to find ten specific waymarks in the Mnichovo Hradiste area. Learn more about scavenger hunts in the Waymarking Scavenger Hunt FAQ.
Will this new feature bring new excitement to waymarking? Which local waymarker will be the first to issue a challenge in the Bay Area?
