It’s important to disconnect from the stress of everyday life. The relaxing feeling that you receive from grounding your body can result in creating that calming effect you desire. Research shows that you may actually be lowering your cortisol levels. Cortisol is secreted by the adrenal glands and plays an important part in many body regulating functions. Everyone in today’s busy society is well aware of that Flight or Fight adrenal response that drives stress to its peak. The important thing whether you go barefoot in the ground or a sandy beach is to remove all the blocks between you and the earth. If you can’t get to the beach working in your garden can be equally beneficial.

You can see why Grounding is also referred to as Earthing. Taking off those rubber soles that are found in an ever growing number of shoe styles is key!

Studies show that grounding can be so beneficial that products to accomplish this connection are now becoming popular. Healthy raw food guru David Wolfe recommends many grounding products for example grounding sheets and computer mouse pads.

Here’s a benefit which entails just talking off your shoes and walking on the earth that you can try the next time you experience Jet Lag while traveling. Try grounding yourself after your flight or anytime you experience jet lag. Even a short walk or time spent sitting connected to the ground can help to reset your internal clock.
