Groundhog Day: February 2, 2013

Each year Phil the Groundhog in Punxsutawny, Pennsylvania pops out of his hole amid a crowd of onlookers and media to give us a show. If he sees his shadow we are in for six more weeks of winter; but, if he doesn't we're set for a warm up. Whether this is fact or fantasy, each year a big production is made of this rodents shadow.

To honor the tradition of Phil the Groundhog, kids can create a fun Groundhog puppet or check out an informational sheet or coloring page. In as little as a few minutes the whole family will learn fun tid-bits about this furry marmot.

Happy Groundhog Day!
