Denver, Colorado is known as a feel good city and what better goes with a feel good city then some feel good music. The type of music, that makes you want to get up out of your seat and groove to the rhythms that set your soul free. This, my friends, is what Ground Up delivers at each one of their unique and energetic jam band filled shows.
Home grown here in Denver, Colorado, Ground Up is a four-piece band that has been artistically molded by its environment. Most people say that we are a product of our environment and in this case, Ground Up is that particular product that is flying off the shelf like the new G.I. Joe with the kung-fu grip.
Having only been around since early 2009, the band has managed to develop a deep root structure of fans here in Colorado. I believe this has been achieved by Ground Up’s approach to creating their music. Instead of forcing a particular sound, each individual in the band is encouraged to bring their own musical influences into the group. Then, the mixing of the potent genre potions are meticulously tweaked and planted to allow the band’s sound to grow organically. This has enabled the band to incorporate music from all genres, as well as keep their sound new and exciting to their fans.
Ground Up has a humorous and improvised side to them. They love to play off the cuff to keep each individual show unique and exciting to both them and their fans. Who doesn’t love a band whose main objective is to show their fans the best time of their lives every time they take the stage?
Ground Up will be tearing it up at Pete’s Monkey Bar on Colfax in downtown Denver on December 30th. This is your chance to get up and groove to the holiday season with some feel good music.
