According to the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association in a press release on Friday, Rosalind Groenewoud of Calgary won a silver medal in the women's superpipe skiing competition at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado.
The silver medal for Groenewoud is significant because it comes less than two weeks from the start of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in a very deep field.
Groenewoud, who finished in second place to American Maddie Bowman, was extremely pleased with her performance, mainly because she was rebounding after having surgery on both knees last month.
Groenewoud, who registered a score of 85.66 points, executed a straight air mute grab, a right 900 mute grab, a flare safety grab, a right 540 double Japan grab, straight air safety grab and a right 720 double Japan grab on Friday according to the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association.
Marie Martinod of France meanwhile won the bronze medal.
