Grocery store gift cards: the perfect holiday gift for foodies and college students

Gift cards make a fantastic gift, and few if any gift cards that I've received have been as nice to get as gift cards to my local grocery store or upscale grocery store.  For foodies, a gift card to a grocery store is perfect: it relieves you of the pressure of picking out a particular gift while still showing him or her just how thoughtful you are.  For college students, "free" groceries almost can't be beat.  Since everyone has to buy food, these are actually a thoughtful, if a bit strange, gift for anyone you know!

There's not much more to say about giving a grocery-store gift card as a gift except that it's another option for folks in your life that are hard to buy for, especially if they like food and cooking.  Gift cards to The Fresh Market and Earth Fare always get me out of my shell and convince me to buy something I normally wouldn't, and I dare say your favorite foodie friends would feel and react the same.

So, while you're out shopping for Christmas presents this year, think twice in a rather unlikely place: the grocery aisles!  They can even be purchased online!

Great stores in Knoxville for choosing: The Fresh Market, Earth Fare, and Kroger all make excellent choices in the Knoxville area.  Gift cards to any of these retailers can be purchased at the stores and make great gifts for food-lovers and for UT or Maryville College students.
