Grip it and rip it in Executive Golf's four indoor leagues

Executive Golf has put together a friendly foursome of indoor leagues to keep Ottawa-area golfers from putting their games into deep hibernation during the freezing days and nights of winter.

The virtual golf club runs the leagues, which are designed to help men and women golfers beat the December, January, February and March blahs, at Golf-O-Max’s 1050 Baxter Rd. location.

The lineup includes the Monday evening Ladies League, the Tuesday morning Seniors Champions League, the Tuesday evening Mixed League and the Sunday evening Slammer Tour Match-Play League.

“We strive to have players of every skill level feel comfortable playing the indoor game with others in an organized and friendly atmosphere,” says Andy Rajhathy, vice-president of EG. “With the four leagues, there really is a league for every type of golfer - no matter their skill level, age or gender.”

For golfers not familiar with the indoor game, they should know that thanks to cutting-edge technology, they use their own clubs and actually hit the ball; be it a drive, fairway metal, approach, chip or putt on some of the world's best known courses.

After striking the ball, various sensors in the simulators assess what kind of shot the player has hit and display the ball-flight on a video screen. Thee sophisticated simulators pick up draws, fades, skulls, chunks, hooks and slices. They also keep score and record all aspects of each player’s round.
