“So the animals debated how they might drive the robbers out, and at last settled on an idea.”
“Natural Born Wesen” is the newest episode of Grimm. Reminder, this article has spoilers, so read at your own risk. Check out the slideshow for more quotes from the episode. Grimm airs Friday nights at 8 on NBC.
A group of Wesen are robbing banks, and they aren’t using traditional ski masks to get the job done either. No, instead they are showing off their Wesen faces. This is a big no, no. What’s really interesting about this case is Hank and Nick sort of work together with Renard. Well okay, mostly Nick and Renard work together, sort of. They have a moment where Renard states how many times he has saved Nick and that they have to work together. There is a scene where Hank, Nick and Renard talk about how bad the case, assumedly for the Wesen community. The writers should have expanded on this more because it’s a new work dynamic. Do you want to see Renard more involved with Hank and Nick in terms of Wesen cases?
A lot more of Wesen history comes into play in this episode, which is always great to see. Most episodes just show new kinds of Wesen, but this episode talks more about their codes. Not all that surprising, the biggest rule they have is to keep themselves a secret from the world. The little tidbit that they caused the witch hunt is just hilarious. The writers are good at providing Wesen history lessons and connecting them to some even in human history. It would be nice to delve more into this council that Rosalee and Monroe speak of. On the one hand it sounds a little secretive, but on the other, it sounds like something that all Wesen fear. Did you enjoy the Wesen history lesson?
Juliette’s scenes are just plain weird. She is hallucinating all sorts of things, most likely as a side effect from the drink she took at the spice shop. What’s a little strange is that Renard seems to be perfectly fine. He isn’t experiencing anything out of the ordinary. Is Juliette affected differently because she is human or because she is getting her memories back? What’s your take?
