Nick is not the focus of this episode. There isn’t a case for him and Hank to solver. There’s no Wesen to research in the trailer with the help of Rosalee and Monroe. It’s a little weird. The writers made a bold choice to not have the procedural aspect in this episode. During the episode, there is this waiting feeling for a case to appear. What makes the lack of the case okay is that the writers have slowly spent time showing Adalind’s ordeal in previous episode. This way spending an entire episode with her does not feel too strange, and the viewers recognize all the major characters in her storyline. The writers don’t make us sit through an episode focused on characters that we barely know. Did you miss having a case?

There are moments of intensity in Adalind’s trek to safety. However, there is a good bit of time spent with Adalind and Kelly (Nick’s mom) on the plane. It’s not the most interesting of moments in the storyline. Adalind basically asks for conversation, and Kelly sort of talks about her life. This part could have definitely be cut down. It would have been better to expand upon the time that Adalind is at Nick’s house. There is one curious moment on the plane. Kelly remembers sending Nick away with Marie. This is a small flashback, and the writers seem to want viewers to pick on something, but it is hard to entirely figure out what. The writers definitely need to expand upon this soon because right now, it’s confusing. Did you enjoy spending time with Adalind and Kelly?

Here are some thoughts on elsewhere in the episode. Nick is still concerned about the possibility of fatalities if he is the best man. This leads to something unexpected. We learn how Wesen can tell that Nick is a grimm! It is a fun thing to finally learn, and the fact that it is that his eyes is very strange but fun. Nick and his mom are reunited. One of the best parts about this episode is Kelly playing catch up on how everyone is connected. She is very out of the loop. Her reactions to things are priceless. It is also great to see how much Kelly knows. She immediately knows how Adalind lost her powers and figures out how she regained them. What did you think of the episode?
