Monroe’s family drama consumes most of the episode. Don’t get me wrong, it’s interesting, but there is not a lot of time spent developing the case. After Monroe and Rosalee get clued in, they are concerned, and talk about how this is more than your average Wesen trouble. Yet we don’t see how dangerous these Wesen are. We catch glimpse of what they can do, but it is hard to be afraid of them. The writers don’t let viewers be concerned for Nick. It just feels like an everyday case, where Nick will easily win. Once the fighting starts, it is clear that this is not the case. It would have been interesting if this case made you actually fear for Nick’s life. What did you think of the Wesen of the week?
Speaking of Monroe’s family, things are not going well. I mean it is hard to think that things would get worse, but they do. It is interesting to hear more about their beliefs, and Alice (Monroe’s mom) asks if Rosalee would be open to something. Right now it is unclear what Alice asks if Rosalee would do, it seems like cheek to cheek sniffing. It’s weird. In the end, however, both parents make strides to accept Monroe’s way of life. What are your thoughts on Monroe’s parents?
Adalind’s baby is coming soon, and everyone is watching her. A good bit of time is spent with her during this episode, but this time it’s actually intriguing. Her buddy Stefania is actually working with the royals. She is helping Viktor acquire Adalind and her baby. This is a great twist, and it raises the stakes. Everyone keeps talking about how important Adalind’s child is, and how people will do anything to get the baby. Finally the writers are starting to show this. There still has not been an all-out brawl or anything, but Adalind is forced to choose a side, and for now, she is with the resistance. Did Stefania’s betrayal surprise you?
