Grilled turkey legs

If you've ever been to a Rennaissance Festival, you've more than likely had the giant turkey leg.  While these aren't the same, they are an excellent substitute to tide you over until the Ren Faire season comes around.  If you want the real thing, the Tennessee Renassance Festival is happening every weekend the month of May in Arrington, about 50 miles from Lynchburg. 

Grilled Turkey Legs

  • 1 turkey leg per person
  • salt
  • pepper

Rub the turkey legs with the salt and pepper.  Grill using indirect heat at abut 235 degrees (use a grill thermometer), the meaty part towards the fire. Cook until the legs register 175 degrees on a meat thermometer.   Depending on your grill and the size of the turkey legs, this could take anywhere from 1-2 hours.
