Grilled chicken sandwich recipe -- raisin bread makes all the difference

Grilled chicken sandwich
Grilled chicken sandwich on raisin bread

The sandwich is a universal food – people love them worldwide, and they’re so versatile you can combine many flavors together. This sandwich recipe is the best of every world. It combines the deliciousness of chicken, the wonderful sweetness of raisin bread, and the juiciness of a ripe pear.

We’re all used to the meat, cheese, and condiment sandwich, where the crispness comes from lettuce. Fruit, however, makes a sandwich spectacular! Apple can add crunch, pear can add juicy sweetness, and grapes add a special flavor all their own.

The days of having fruit only when it’s in season are over. We’re lucky enough that we have wonderful stores that carry most fruits all year long. In Grand Rapids we have Horrock’s; they carry amazing fruit – check them out!
