According to the Christian Post on Dec. 5, an Illinois pastor allegedly killed himself inside his Matteson home in front of his mother and son as they begged him not to shoot himself.

It was reported that Pastor Ed Montgomery was grieving over the death of his wife, Prophetess Jackie Montgomery, who died last December from a brain aneurysm.

The pastor and his wife both served at the Full Gospel Christian Assemblies International Church in Hazel Crest, Illinois. They were marriage counselors and in charge of several other ministers, according to the church's website where both of their pictures are still there as of this writing even though the wife died a year ago.

The pastor never got over his wife's death. In fact, he had said he was hearing her voice and footsteps for about two weeks before his death.

Sandy Davis, a close friend of the Montgomery family, said:

"His mom had stopped over and his son was there asking dad 'not to do it, not to do it.'"

Montgomery and his wife had two children, Trent and Mikia.

Montgomery is expected to be buried on Monday, Dec. 9.

It was less than a month ago when another pastor killed himself. Pastor Teddy Parker, Jr. of Macon, Georgia shot himself at home while congregation was waiting for him to arrive at church. It was later reported that Parker was suffering from mental depression.
