Revealed today in an article by Mark Gottlieb on Wizards.com, Gridlock is a new tool for blue players to slow down their opponent's with.

While it may not be as mana efficient compared to Feeling of Dread from "Innistrad," Gridlock isn't limited to just "fogging" by targeting only creatures. While you can't stop an opponent from activating artifacts like Trading Post in response to you targeting them, there are some instances where it may be beneficial to target it anyway.

By tapping a Gilded Lotus or any other mana producing artifact they'll have trouble casting that Nicol Bolas or be able to Rewind the next spell in your turn.

While it's very rare that an enchantment taps and we've yet to see a tapping Planeswalker, Gridlock has you covered. Ditto for other new nonland permanents which haven't been introduced to the game yet.
