“Grey’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo has been on the show since the very beginning and she has seen some crazy drama happen behind the cameras. During some of the earlier seasons, Isaiah Washington left the show after making some homophobic comments towards one of his co-stars, T.R. Knight. However, Pompeo recently revealed that watching another co-star leave the show was tough, especially since she saw her make a mistake. According to a new US Weekly report published on Oct. 7, “Grey’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo is now dishing that she thinks Katherine Heigl made a mistake.
Pompeo thought it was tough to see Heigl leave the show. "Hurt feelings, combined with instant success and huge paychecks started things spinning out of control," Pompeo said in an interview with the New York Post. "The crazier things got, as I watched all the tumult with Isaiah and then the Katie thing, I started to focus on the work."
However, any actor may find that the big money is motivating to pursue new projects. "You could understand why she wanted to go -- when you're offered $12 million a movie and you're only 26," she said. "But Katie's problem is that she should not have renewed her contract. She re-upped, took a big raise and then tried to get off the show. And then her movie career did not take off."
It sounds like Pompeo is trying to say that Heigl made a mistake because she dropped the show in favor of a movie. Since doing the movie, Heigl has started a family. Are you surprised that Pompeo is speaking out about Heigl's career?
