On tonight's episode, fans will see Jackson Avery in charge of the hospital. A sneak peek released for the episode showed Avery taking charge on the operating room, but his fellow doctors will not think he has the ability to run the hospital. Patrick Dempsey said the following about how the other doctors feel about Avery's ability:
"They question his ability to manage the situation because of his lack of maturity and the position he is in because of his mother. There’s a lot of resentment towards him in that position because of it."
One of the main concerns the doctors will have deals with Avery's initial decision to keep the emergency room shut down. This will lead to Callie not trusting Avery. Sara Ramirez spoke about how her character feels about the situation, and she said the following, according to the site:
"She doesn’t really take him seriously and thinks his mother is behind the whole thing. He’s basically a mouthpiece for his mother. It takes her a while to see past all of the initial frustration and distrust to actually see that something good might actually come out of him being a leader."
As for the sneak peeks released for the episode, the first sneak peek shows problems with running surgeries. Meredith is trying to fix it, but Karev wants her help with a transplant procurement. He isn't too thrilled with her first saying she can't go, but she decides to go anyway. The second and third sneak show Avery's situation. The first shows him talking to his mother, and the third shows the tension between Avery and the other doctors.
The hospital has been saved, but the staff will have to work through a lot before things settle down completely. Fans are buzzing about this series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
