'Grey's Anatomy' spoilers: Four series regulars ink two year deals

On May 2 Wetpaint Entertainment reported that four more cast members from the popular medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" have signed on to appear in at least two more seasons of the show. The show, which is currently wrapping up its tenth season, has not been renewed for more seasons. The cast members who signed two year deals to appear as series regulars include Sara Ramirez, James Pickens, Justin Chambers and Chandra Wilson.

Ramirez plays orthopedic surgeon Dr. Callie Torres, Pickens portrays Richard Webber, Justin Chambers plays Dr. Alex Karev, and Chandra Wilson is the formidable Dr. Miranda Bailey. Earlier this year, actors Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey both signed two year deals to return as series regulars for 2015 and 2016. All of the cast members have appeared since the first season of the series without taking a leave of absence.

On May 2 Deadline also reported that the series is expected to be picked up for a new season, although the official announcement is more of a formality. The series still brings in between eight and eleven million viewers each week after ten seasons and will have at least two more. The medical drama "ER," which aired prior to this series, ran for fifteen seasons before being canceled.

Actress Sandra Oh, who plays Dr. Cristina Yang, is leaving the show after the tenth season, and is the only original cast member not to renew their contract on the series. Cast members Tessa Ferrer and Gaius Charles who play Leah Murphy and Shane Ross are also being written out of season ten with the option to appear in season eleven. With the new contracts lasting two years, it safe to say the series will see season thirteen which the possibility of continuing further.

Actors like Patrick Dempsey have expressed a desire to move on to other interests than the series, although he did commit to two more seasons. Over the years, actors like T. R. Knight and Katherine Heigl have left the series for the same reason and their characters were written out after being given a dramatic sendoff. Characters like Jesse, April, Arizona and the others will still appear in the upcoming season but their contract information has not yet been revealed.
