‘Grey's Anatomy’ spoiler for season 9 ‘Hard Bargain’: A rash of resignations

In the last episode of “Grey’s Anatomy,” Seattle Grace-Mercy West was being looked at by prospective buyers from Pegasus. Could that explain the rash of resignations that seem to be taking place in “Hard Bargain?” According to the Hollywood Reporter on Feb. 12, it just might be.

Pegasus has some harsh changes in store for the hospital and its staff unless the plane crash survivors take matters into their own hands. Wasn’t this the moment we’ve been waiting for since we learned the hospital could go bankrupt as a result of the settlement? Who knew the survivors would have to resign to make it happen.

In a clip from the episode, a stunned Owen looks on as Derek, Meredith, Callie and Arizona all tender their resignations. His shock and disbelief mounts when Cristina adds hers to the list. Check out the scene in the accompanying video.

Constance Zimmer, the actress playing Dr. Alana Cahill sent to whip the hospital into shape for its sale, had this to say about the situation on the show:

"As a group of people who have been through something pretty traumatic, they can either use the settlement to the benefit of everyone else or they can turn their backs on it and move on," Zimmer said. When asked if the survivors could band together to save their beloved hospital, she replied, "You never know. Some people veer away when tragedy strikes and some people get closer. It's an interesting situation."

You can see the next new episode of Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at 9 p.m. on ABC.
