"Grey's Anatomy" knows how to make any romance fillled with drama on ABC, and the upcoming season will be no exception. On Friday, Aug. 23, Entertainment Weekly shared new comments made by Shonda Rhimes about the future of Owen Hunt on the series.
Owen Hunt will soon have to deal with the complete exit of Cristina Yang from his life, and this could open the door for a new relationship. Shonda Rhimes is definitely open to introducing a new woman to his life. She said the following about the character to EW:
"I would love for Owen to be happy. I think Owen has been in love with a very complicated woman. And that’s what happens. Sometimes women are in love with complicated men and they get thrown around, but in this situation, Owen is in love with a complicated woman who prefers her genius to almost anything else and that is complex."
Owen is not the only one with a complicated love life on the series. April Kepner made a big declaration to Jackson at the end of season nine, and that will complicate things for the pair during season 10. Shonda Rhimes did have some dish about April and Jackson as well. She teased the following to TV Line:
"Her declaration is definitely going to have interesting repercussions. She’s engaged to somebody else, and he’s with somebody else, and it’s not as if either of them is behaving, I would say, in the most mature manner. They’ve definitely got challenging times ahead."
April will have more to deal with though. She will take her boards again during season 10, and she is sure to pass the second time around. This will lift her status a bit at the hospital, and she will become more of a mentor.
"Grey's Anatomy" will return to ABC on Sept. 26.
