“Grey’s Anatomy” fans will be watching Dr. Cristina Yang will be seen for the final time on Thursday night on ABC. The season finale has everyone ready to grab a box of tissue and say goodbye to the character seen from the very first pilot of the television show. According to TV Guide on Wednesday, the moment for viewers to say farewell won’t be easy as this isn't your garden variety television character.
Even Sandra Oh is looking at the departure with great reflection and much appreciation. The actress wanted the fans to know on Thursday that she will be watching the final episode along with the fans. And she wanted everyone to know how much she appreciated the support over the years and even today. The actress knew people would be wanting to hear from her before the show aired the final time this season.
“I've received so much love & support from all. Thank you so! Tonight is Cristina's last episode. Sigh. Please watch and say farewell. I will,” tweeted Sandra Oh from her official Twitter account on Thursday afternoon only a few hours before the show was to be seen.
“Grey’s Anatomy” season finale will have a chaotic moment in the hospital as well as a finale farewell to the beloved character. After receiving notice that the hospital should expect casualties from an incident at a nearby mall, everyone seems to be ready for a big push of patients to roll in the doors. Offering an ending of big changes, there is also expected to be a few smaller, yet equally important moments for the viewers to notice before the changes.
Next season “Grey’s Anatomy” is already looking at bringing in some new faces and offering up new scenarios with Meredith and the staff. With Dr. Yang gone, the show is definitely going to feel different and fans might long for her to return, but for Sandra Oh it seems the departure is a good direction for her career.
“Grey’s Anatomy” season finale airs Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
