The end of season 10 of “Grey’s Anatomy” is in sight and with it comes the departure of Sandra Oh, the actress who plays Cristina Yang. IN an ABC press release shared by Spoiler TV on March 24, it looks like episode 10X19 will have a strong focus on Cristina and may lead into her departure from Grey-Sloane Memorial.

First let’s take a look at the press release:

“I’m Winning” – Cristina is nominated for a Harper Avery and although most of her fellow doctors are ecstatic, she won’t let herself get too excited. Bailey continues to work on a young boy without an immune system -- Alex considers making a change, and Derek and Callie work with a machine that can recognize emotions. Meanwhile, Richard gives the residents a pep talk about the exciting projects going on around the hospital on “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Winning a prestigious award like the Harper Avery could give Cristina the pick of jobs anywhere in the world. She has always wanted to take her career to the highest levels possible. While Grey-Sloane has provided her with an excellent education and afforded her some wonderful opportunities, it is not the be-all and end-all of cardiac medicine.

In a casting side shared back in January, there was talk of a famous Austrian visitor coming to the hospital, potentially to woo Yang away. With the Harper Avery in her possession, it makes that scenarios seem even more likely.

There is no good way for Cristina leave the show Not only will characters on the show miss her but so will actors and fans. If she has to go then the premise of it being to further here career and cardiac medicine is a good one. After all, it’s at least a part of the reason she gave up Owen so her departure had better have merit.

“Grey’s Anatomy” airs on ABC on Thursdays.
