In the midseason finale of “Grey’s Anatomy,” we all heard what sounded like an awkward marriage proposal from Alex to Jo and fans will get to find out how she answers in the Feb. 27 spring premiere, according to a Feb. 20 post on E! Online. There is a pretty dramatic season 10 spoiler ahead so proceed at your own risk.
Just before going into April and Matthew’s wedding, Alex, filled with raw emotion after a confrontation with his dad, asked Jo, "We'll be together forever, right?" It’s not a classic proposal but for Alex Karev, it’s about as close as you’d expect.
Jo seems to think otherwise. In the exclusive sneak peek, Alex is beating on a vending machine when Jo asks him if he really proposed. He is annoyed that she doesn’t know. She tells him she believes he was just reacting to the situation with his dad. He gets angrier saying that isn’t it and if she has cold feet she should just say she doesn’t want to get married.
Spoilers Ahead! Last chance to turn back!
She says she doesn’t want to get married, that she isn’t ready but that’s not what this is about. She believes Alex is grieving over his dad and their messed up relationship. He yells back, “I’m not grieving!” and walks off. She calls him back but he ignores her and she punches the glass of the vending machine, shattering it.
So everyone’s newest favorite couple won’t be marching down the aisle anytime soon. That doesn’t mean they are over…we think.
In other news for the couple, Alex will be dealing with the fallout from the horrendous surgery Shane performed on his dad, Jimmy. The two of them get into a huge fight – a brawl – in the middle of the hospital. Because Jo is being a rock for Alex during this crisis, she is furious with Shane. Camilla Luddington, who plays Jo, said, “She hates Shane. She's not for him staying at the hospital. So you see her get closer to Alex through that."
“Grey's Anatomy” returns with the midseason premiere titled "Take It Back" on Thursday, Feb. 27 on ABC.
