We learned last week that “Grey’s Anatomy” was looking for a new doctor and it looks they have found him in the form of “Big Love’s” Patrick Fabian. The actor has been cast in a recurring role according to the State Journal Register on Feb. 11.

The info we had last week described the new doc as “a 40-something” who will be "funny, caring, and maybe just a little too confident with his work." Dr. Oliver Lebackes’s supposed to be a real sweetie and Fabian certainly fits that bill.

According to the news release Fabian will portray a pediatric surgeon and will no doubt come in contact with both Dr. Arizona Robbins and Dr. Alex Karev. We’re not 100% sure that Fabian is playing Dr. Oliver Lebackes but it seems probable.

Fabian has worked on Shonda Rhimes series in the past. You may know him from his roles on “Private Practice” and “Scandal.” He played a senator involved in a sexting scandal on the latter. He has also recently appeared on “Hawaii Five-O”, “Criminal Minds” and “Desperate Housewives.”

He will make his first appearance on “Grey’s Anatomy” sometime in April. “Grey’s” airs on Thursdays on ABC and will return on Feb. 27 from winter hiatus.
