Arizona has been lost and trying to find her way since the plane crash that ended season 8. In “Map of You,” the fifth episode on season 10 of “Grey’s Anatomy,” she was still struggling to figure out her place in the world after cheating on Callie at the end of season 9 and so was Leah Murphy. The episode aired Thursday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m.
Following the fundraising gala when the two of them shared a platonic but fun evening, Leah was smitten. Arizona gave in and the two of them shared a kiss. She now complains to Alex that she is being pestered by an intern after a one night stand and can’t shake her off. Without realizing that she is referring to Leah, he mentions he had the same problem with Leah when he slept with her and Arizona realizes she is going to have to nip this thing quickly.
Meanwhile, Leah is trying to bond with the other interns and keeps hinting that she has a secret to share. Late in the episode, she finally blurts out that her special someone is Arizona. Unfortunately for Leah, she does this at a nurse’s station with Arizona standing close enough to hear her.
Arizona calls Leah over and breaks the news to her that their tryst was indeed a one night stand and that it isn’t going anywhere. Leah, looking stricken, apologizes and offers up a sweet explanation about how she is an outsider and has a hard time connecting with people. She simply mistook the camaraderie and attention as more than Arizona intended. No hard feelings. Then as the tears begin to flow, she dashes off, humiliated.
Arizona shows shock and maybe a little concern but lets the girl run off. Later that night, however, as she tosses and turns, she grabs her cell phone and texts Leah, “What are you up to?”
Has Arizona decided to move on from Callie? Will Leah be her new love interest? Will Leah even respond after being humiliated in front of her peers? Tune in on Thursdays at 8 p.m. to find out. In the meantime, check back for more news, updates and spoilers as they become available.
