CBS has announced that Greta Gerwig has been chosen to play the lead character in 'How I Met Your Mother' spinoff 'How I Met Your Dad' as the lead character, Sally. The show is said to set from a female point of view this time.

The official synopsis of the show is as follows: she will play the soulmate-searching Sally, a female Peter Pan who has never grown up and has no idea of where she’s going in life. She has just figured out that she has nothing in common with her husband of less than a year. A break-up is inevitable, but Sally will find a solid circle of support in her friends and family, who are often too willing to give “good” advice that can backfire badly. Meanwhile, Sally must filter out the input and decide what’s best for her.

The show is said to be set in New York and may be filmed in LA as well as New York. Greta Gerwig is also said to be a producer of the show and if the pilot is accepted she will also be writing some of the episodes.

"How I Met Your Mother" is set to end on March 31 and if " How I Met Your Dad" is picked up by CBS then the show will be picked up in the fall.
