Gregg Jarrett arrested: Fox News anchor's shocking mug shot suggests decline

Gregg Jarrett’s arrest was a jolt to Fox News fans as this is not something most would expect from the normally distinguished on-air personality. Fans were awarded another jolt when getting a gander at Jarrett’s mug shot, which is the polar opposite of what is traditionally seen from this clean-cut anchor.

Gregg Jarrett, Fox News anchor, was arrested and jailed overnight after becoming drunk and unruly at an airport bar. His mugshot is the polar opposite of how Jarrett traditionally presents.

His unkempt appearance doesn’t resemble the man who has anchored the weekend news at Fox for the last 12-years. He has also been the lead anchor for many of the high-profile cases on Fox, like the George Zimmerman case and the Asiana Flight 214 crash at San Francisco Airport.

According to CNN News on May 22, Jarrett was arrested in an airport bar after becoming “belligerent and uncooperative” with police officers who were called to the establishment because Jarrett was drunk and unruly.

Airport spokesperson Patrick Hogan reports that the 59-year-old Jarrett was at a Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport bar on Wednesday when his behavior warranted a call to authorities. He was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor of obstruction of the legal process and interfering with a peace officer.

Jarrett was taken into custody and spent "a dozen hours" incarcerated in Hennepin County Jail. He was released early Thursday morning on a $300 bond. Yahoo News reports today that Jarrett was arrested about 12:30 p.m. at the Northern Lights Grill, which is located in the airport’s main terminal.

Fox News released a statement which included:

“"We were made aware late last night that Gregg Jarrett was arrested in Minneapolis yesterday and charged with a misdemeanor. He is dealing with serious personal issues at this time. A date at which Gregg might return to air has yet to be determined."

It seems that back on May 12, Jarrett requested to take some time off from his job as the weekend anchor at Fox. The network is quoted as saying that “he requested time off for personal reasons and Fox obliged,” according to CNN. There has been no date released for Jarrett’s return from his requested hiatus.
