Greg Laswell returns to the D/FW

Greg Laswell who is known for his black hat, and his acoustic guitar is headed back to Dallas. Laswell has no writer's block, and seems to head a tour yearly promoting a new album. His current release, "Take A Bow," which was released on May 4th has the same sounds that helped develop Laswell as a triumphant writer against his peers. Songs that provoke emotions, and tend to be placed during dramatic scenes on Grey's Anatomy. Last year alone he had four placements within the show.

His prior album, "Covers," which was an onset of acoustic sets of previously recorded songs, which includes, The Killing Moon, This Woman's Work, and In Spite of Me showed just what Laswell could do by creating a completely different mood for these songs. Laswell who is not new in creating covers, by previously recording Cyndie Lauper's, Girls Just want to have fun. By developing the once bubble gum song into a  intoxicating melancholy song. Laswell who sometimes is compared with artists such as Ray Lamontagne and Jose Gonzalez. sigifies what someone can do with an lullabye voice, and an acoustic guitar.

Friday at 6 p.m. Laswell wll be playing an acoustic set at Good Records located on 1808 Lower Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75206. The set will be prior to his concert at the Propet Bar. The doors open at 7:30 p.m. and you can currently buy tickets for $12 or $15 at the door.
