Zaria Garrison is a single mom living in Greer, SC with her son and pet Pekinese. She also recently became a best-selling author.

Ms. Garrison’s debut Christian fiction novel, Prodigal, was release by Urban Christian publishing; a division of Kensington on November 1, 2009. It is available locally at Barnes and Noble on Haywood and Woodruff roads, as well as multiple online retailers.

One of those retailers is Black Expressions Book Club.  It is the nations largest direct to consumer African American Book club. Under the leadership of editor in chief Carol Hill Mackey, Black Expressions Book Club features the best of African American literature. Mrs. Mackey reviews submissions from publishers and chooses it’s best selections to be offered to her club members.

Prodigal entered Black Expressions book clubs top 100 books in early November, shortly after its release at the spot of 80. Since that time it has climbed steadily and reached a peak of 43 on the list. Currently it’s holding it’s own at 58. It has been in the Top 100 for 9 straight weeks.

This achievement has earned Ms. Garrison the ranking of best-selling author. Her second Christian fiction novel Losing it, will be released on Sept 28, 2010. Ms. Garrison is currently at work on her third novel.
