Halloween is upon us, and Greenwood Public Library is hosting its annual Monster Mash event on Oct. 30 as a way to celebrate and have fun with the community. The event is completely free and will be inside the library from 5-7 p.m.
According to Aubrey Watson, Reference Librarian at Greenwood Public Library, this is the 5th Monster Mash event. The event is a free community Halloween party, all ages invited.
“We usually get between 500 and 100 people, including parents and children,” said Watson. “It is library-wide and people of all ages are invited!”
The library provides games, crafts and creepy fun. Local Johnson county businesses are participating as vendors providing candy and treats to children as well as information on their local businesses. Dinner will be available as pizza will be provided by the slice by Little Caesar’s Pizza.
All attendees are encouraged to dress up, says Watson, including library staff and vendors.
Admission to the event is free for all attendees, and all funds raised from business booth sponsorships will go directly to the library to purchase books and materials.
