Greenwood Gators putting the fun back in competitive swimming

Can your child swim the length of the pool using the freestyle stroke?  What about an almost-freestyle stroke?  If you answered "yes" to either of these questions, then your child might be ready to join the Greenwood Gators swim team.

The Greenwood Gators are a non-profit organization run by board members from the Greenwood community and the head coach of the Greenwood High School swimming team.  While not an affiliate of Greenwood High School sports, the Gators are members of Indiana Swimming and USA Swimming.

Offering year round swim lessons in addition to competitive swim opportunities, the Gators teach and compete with a focus on building confidence and self-esteem and, most of all, having fun.

Registration for the Greenwood Gators will take place September 13 - 17 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm in the Greenwood High School natatorium.  Team fees can be paid monthly throughout the fall/winter short course season which lasts from September to February.  Monthly fees range from $44 to $56 depending on your child's team.  Discounts are available for families with multiple participating children.  Be sure to bring a copy of your child's birth certificate when registering.

Practices for the fall/winter season take place three to five times a week and are held in the Greenwood High School natatorium.  If your child is not able to register for the Gators due to other sports or school obligations, mid-season registration is also available.

Regardless of age or gender, the Greenwood Gators hope to grow your child's interest in a fun, competitive sport.  Stop by and check out a practice to see if this opportunity is right for you.
