Greenbo Lake offers songwriting seminar

Would be songwriters have a special reason to head out to Greenbo Lake State Resort Park.  The park, in partnership with the Greenup County Extension Arts Council, will hold a “Become a Better Songwriter” seminar Friday, January 27 and Saturday, January 28, 2012.

The seminar will include workshops, jam sessions, and a dinner concert on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m.  A special guest for the seminar will be singer-songwriter Rick Ferrell, writer of Tim McGraw’s “Something Like That” and Martina McBride’s “Where Would You Be.”  He will be performing at the Saturday night dinner concert.

Ferrell is a native of nearby Portsmouth, Ohio, and has had his songs recorded by a wide range of artists from Thomas Conley, Eddie Raven, and Tanya Tucker to new country artists such as Julianne Hough, Rio Grande, and Kentucky’s own Montgomery Gentry.
