Did you know that you can be “green” while exercising in more ways than just using a reusable water bottle at the gym? At the Eco Gym in Naperville, you can generate clean energy by simply running, walking, or jogging. On Saturday, February 23rd starting at 8AM, you can participate in the Indoor Run/Walk 5K energy drive!
Eco Gym is the first ever 24 hour gym completely run on human and solar (pun intended). At the Winter 2013 Indoor Run/Walk you can achieve 5K status individually, or as a team of 4 on Eco Gym’s clean energy “eco-mills”. Eco Gym’s “eco-mills” are self powered and have a tread rather than a motor. A monitor connected to the eco-mills will be calculating your speed and physical aspects of energy production.
Don’t be worried if you are not able to run a full 5K! You can run or walk as hard as you want for 28 minutes; however, if you’re up for a challenge, Eco Gym will be offering prizes for the TOP energy producers! You can choose your starting time and save $10 by signing up for early registration at <http://www.eventbrite.com/event/5270389878?ref=ebtnebregn>. Early registration is $20 and tickets purchased the day of the event will be $30.
Sponsors include: Creatix, Blessings in a Backpack, Maplebrook Chiropractic, First Command Financial Services, and MANY more! The Earth will not only benefit from your participation in this amazing event, but the proceeds of the Indoor Run/Walk 5K will also benefit Blessings in a Backpack. Put on your running shoes, and make strides toward clean energy, and help benefit this amazing cause! See you there!
