Spicy food is the order of the day on Saturday, September 6, as the Wisconsin State Chili Cook-Off comes to Green Lake, Wisconsin. Sponsored by the Green Lake Rotary Club and the International Chili Society, the popular food event takes place at Deacon Mills Park, starting at 11 a.m. The late summer festival runs until 5 p.m.

At least 40 chili cooks from across the Badger State will compete for cash and prizes in the annual chili cooking contest. The first prize chili recipe is expected to win $750, along with the chance chances to compete in the $25,000 World Championship Chili Cook-Off in late October at the MGM Resorts Festival Village in Las Vegas.

World Champion categories for the Chili Cook-Off include Chili Verde, Homestyle Chili, Salsa Chili, and Traditional Red Chili.
