Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong getting back on stage

It looks like 2013 is going to treat Green Day and their fans much better than the end of 2012. The band announced that they will hit the stage on March 28 for a 10 date tour (New York Times, Jan 1) Billie Joe Armstrong shared a note on Instagram thanking fans for all the love and support. He ended the note with "P.S. Green Day Tour in March"

The band cancelled their tour in September when Billie Joe had a meltdown during the iHeartRadio Music Festival after a teleprompter said they had one minute left to perform when in reality they had 45. The singer reportedly exclaimed "I’m not f***ing Justin Bieber.....You gotta be f***ing joking!" and smashed his guitar. The band cancelled tour dates and the frontman entered rehab for substance abuse. The band had just released their new album ¡UNO! in September to be followed by ¡DOS!, and ¡TRE!

The band (Tre Cool, Mike Dirnt and Armstrong) noted on their website “We want to thank everyone for hanging in with us for the last few months.” Armstrong added "I’m getting better every day."

"So now, without further ado, the show must go on."
