According to a Dec. 31 report from Pollstar, Green Day is set for a 2013 performance at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
“Dear friends … I just want to thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown for the past few months," Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong posted via Instagram. "Believe me, it hasn’t gone unnoticed and I’m eternally grateful to have such an amazing set of friends and family. I’m getting better every day. So now, without further ado, the show must go on. We can’t wait to get on the road and live out loud! Our passion has only grown stronger.”
Green Day will be performing at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Apr. 7, 2013.
The Barclays Center date is Green Day's only show in the New York-metro area besides a one-off concert at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, on Apr. 6, 2013.
Green Day recently canceled a series of club dates scheduled for the fall as Armstrong was reportedly undergoing treatment for substance abuse. The band also cancelled an appearance at New Orleans’ Voodoo Festival and postponed a tour that was to begin in January in Green Bay, Wis.
Armstrong appears to be on the right track to great health and a bright future in 2013. Green Day recently released a trilogy of new albums, aptly titled Green Day ¡Uno!, Green Day ¡Dos! and Green Day ¡Tré!
Green Day is also expected to announce some West Coast dates in the days ahead.
