June opens the door to meditations on nature, children, and how each living thing fits into the whole of Mother Earth. Bring a child or your inner child to these fun frolics.

Tree People's Green City Fair is Saturday, June 4, 10am-4pm, in Coldwater Canyon Park. Celebrity activist Ed Begley, Jr. will host this free event, featuring activities and workshops for diverse age groups and walks of life. Free parking available at nearby lots, from which there will be shuttle service to the event, also free. Click here for parking information. Children's activities, face painting, informative huddles on sustainable living and live music make for an eco-chic outing. See for the full schedule of events.

June 11, Children's Nature Institute presents its Kids ROCK Music Festival, free and jam-packed with unusual outdoor fun. Dinosaur digs, recycled art sculpture, a "Green My Parents" booth and much more than can be mentioned here will await adventurers young and old. 11am-5pm, at Hancock Park, between the La Brea Tar Pits and LACMA.
