Ah, St. Patrick's Day in Chicago. If you've already seen the river turn green (it's cool, but once is probably enough for most of us) and aren't heavily into the parade scene, pick a place to settle down instead and enjoy some Irish food and drink specials. Here are 16 places you might want to try.

American Junkie, 15 Illinois St., Saturday, March 15. With close proximity to the river, the River North bar will open at 8 am and serve up Irish classics such as Green Beers, Jameson, Guinness and Irish Car Bombs. Upstairs will be open from 1 to 6 p.m. then reopen again at 10 p.m.

Bellwether, 302 E Illinois St., gets in the St. Patty’s spirit early and late: 8am-5am on Saturday, 10am-4am Sunday and 10am to 4am Monday. Irish style dishes like Drunken Shepherd's Pie (Guinness Braised Brisket), Corned Beef and Cabbage, and an Irish Spring Roll. They will also feature Irish beers and drink specials including $10 Irish Bloody Marys and $5 Tullamore Dew shots.

Chicago Cut Steakhouse, 300 N. LaSalle, and its sister restaurant The Local Chicago, 198 E. Delaware place, will offer St. Patrick’s Day specials from Monday, March 10 through Monday, March 17. Specials will include a Corn Beef and Cabbage Special ($25, made from Owner Matt Moore's grandma's 115-year-old Balla County, Ireland recipe) and Irish Mint Milkshakes ($7 made with spearmint ice cream). They'll also have green lighting to help you get in the spirit.

Lobby Lounge and Showplace Icon Theatre, 150 W. Roosevelt Rd., offers themed cocktails Saturday, March 1 - Monday, March 31. The Irish Tart (Absolut Pear, sour apple, sour mix, splash of orange juice, $12) and the Clover Reactor (Midori, Svedka, sour mix, splash of pineapple, $12) – go great with their signature pizzas, paninis, desserts, and meat and cheese plates.

City Dough, 2955 N. Sheffield Ave., celebrates from Friday, March 14 through Sunday, March 16 with drink specials ($3 Guinness and $5 Jameson).
