The NFL released their schedule for the 2014 season on Wednesday and it starts off with what could be the NFC Championship preview. It will also conjure up plenty of memories from the last time we had replacement referees blowing the whistle. Hello "fail Mary," it's nice for you to visit again.
In week one, Green Bay visit’s the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on the Thursday night opener. It’s a perfect way of getting the NFL season started with two high profile quarterbacks. Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson both have Super Bowl titles and there’s no question each team is preparing for a long run this season.
The other highlighted game of the first week is between the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys. The new look Cowboys have a lot to prove, and week one could be the most important game for the Cowboys.
The best game of the entire weekend could be Sunday night's match up with the Denver Broncos hosting the Indianapolis Colts. Shall we say, the NFL did a great job with this game. Peyton Manning finally gets to host his old team after losing on the road last season. Chances are that the Colts defense could get lit up. It will be up to Andrew Luck to come out firing.
The Monday night double header commences with the New York Giants visiting the Detroit Lions. Eli Manning had a terrible season, but the Giants knocked Detroit out of the playoffs after the Lions should have won the NFC North. Both teams have a lot to live up to.
The second Monday night game is between the San Diego Chargers and the Arizona Cardinals. For the Cardinals to win the NFC West, they must take care of the home games. It should be one of the best games of week one out west.
