A time frame for Naughty Dog's award-winning PlayStation 3 heavy-hitter, The Last of Us, has finally been given. According to a video on CNN Turk, that was posted on a Turkish video game site called Multiplayer, IGN translated PlayStation’s Eurasian Software Market Manager, Sercan Sulun, stating that the game will be released for the PlayStation 4 this summer.

While this may not have been the way that the team wanted the announcement to be revealed, it has been and this is the translation IGN obtained from NeoGaf user Quirah:

"There is no information about a new The Last of Us game but I can share this knowledge; as of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4. Both on PSN and physically."

"The PS4 version will also include the DLC so you will be able to play 'Left Behind' as well."

We can expect to see enhanced graphics on the PlayStation 4 version of the game, along with the Left Behind downloadable content. It will be made available as a packaged retail version and as a digital download through PlayStation Store.

This is the news that we have been waiting for, although fans knew it was coming. With a time-frame in mind, it is definitely a summer to look forward to!
